Phase 1: Starterpreparing the brain for learning
Play games and recite rhymes that learners are familiar with to begin the lesson. Ask learners questions to review their understanding in the previous lesson.
Phase 2: Mainnew learning including assessment
Arrange plastic-bottle approach cones in a straight safe lane and place a rope take-off marker flat on the ground. The teacher checks and rakes a soft sand landing pit and removes stones or debris before practice. Demonstrate a controlled approach, single-foot take-off at the rope take-off marker and two-foot landing with bent hips, knees and ankles. Learners practise one at a time at an appropriate pace. Classmates remain behind the approach cones until the landing pit is clear. The teacher gives feedback on arm action, balance and safe landing before a cool-down.
