Phase 1: Starterpreparing the brain for learning
Begin with a quick warm-up by reviewing the nasals and affricates through a pronunciation drill. Engage learners in a brief discussion about their favorite stories from 'The Cockcrow' to activate prior knowledge. Introduce a short passage and ask learners to identify and underline unfamiliar words, preparing for vocabulary exploration.
Phase 2: Mainnew learning including assessment
Oral Language: Conduct a listening exercise where learners identify nasal and affricate sounds in a recorded passage. Facilitate a partner activity where students practice and correct each other’s pronunciation of challenging words.
