Phase 1: Starterpreparing the brain for learning Begin with a short recap of consonant sounds by asking students to list examples of words with fricative sounds.
Read a short, engaging text aloud and ask students to predict what might happen next, encouraging inference skills.
Introduce the apostrophe by displaying sentences with and without contractions and ask students to identify the differences.
Discuss the purpose of speech writing and ask students to share their thoughts on what makes a speech effective. | Phase 2: Mainnew learning including assessment Oral Language:
Conduct a fricative sounds drill where students repeat tongue twisters focusing on fricative sounds.
Organize a listening activity where students identify and write down fricative sounds from a recorded passage.
