Phase 1: Starterpreparing the brain for learning
Recap previous knowledge about the soil profile. Quick brainstorm: What do you already know about the soil profile? Introduction to today's objectives regarding the soil profile. Mental drill or quick quiz related to the soil profile.
Phase 2: Mainnew learning including assessment
Identify and label soil profile layers and discuss their characteristics. Explore the five factors of soil formation and their impact on soil development. Explain the importance of organic matter in soil health and structure. Conduct a hands-on activity to observe soil particle separation in water.
