Phase 1: Starterpreparing the brain for learning
Recap previous knowledge about Design. Quick brainstorm: What do you already know about Design? Introduction to today's objectives regarding Design. Mental drill or quick quiz related to Design.
Phase 2: Mainnew learning including assessment
Emphasize the importance of ideation and guide students in brainstorming and thumbnail sketching methods. Direct students to produce a minimum of three unique design sketches and discuss criteria for idea selection such as cost, materials, and complexity. Teach students to select and justify their preferred design idea based on discussed criteria. Encourage diverse solutions and provide feedback on the ideation and selection process.
Phase 3plenary / reflections
Summarize what we learned today about Design. Oral assessment: Answer key questions on Design. Learners share one new thing they found out about Design. Check for understanding and wrap up the week on Design.
