Phase 1: Starterpreparing the brain for learning Begin with a group discussion about a short, familiar story to activate prior knowledge and set the context for the lesson
Engage students in a fun listening game where they identify sounds or words from the story read aloud
Introduce key vocabulary from the day's reading material using flashcards and ask students to predict meanings based on pictures | Phase 2: Mainnew learning including assessment Oral Language:
Conduct a storytelling session where students listen and then share key facts from the story with a partner
Facilitate a listening comprehension activity where students answer questions after a short passage is read aloud
Reading:
Guide students through a shared reading of a level-appropriate text, prompting them to predict what happens next
Conduct paired reading sessions where students read to each other and provide support when needed
Writing:
Have students draw a picture of their favorite part of the story and write a sentence about why they chose it
Guide students in writing simple sentences using new vocabulary words from the story
