Phase 1: Starterpreparing the brain for learning
Begin with a circle time where students introduce themselves and share one thing they like. Engage students in a quick warm-up activity by asking them to describe an interesting object in the classroom. Play a short and interactive video that highlights the importance of expressing oneself confidently.
Phase 2: Mainnew learning including assessment
Oral Language: Guide students in a role-playing exercise where they present themselves as a character in a story to the class. Conduct a group discussion where students share their weekend experiences, focusing on speaking clearly and confidently. Reading: Introduce a set of 10 new sight words and engage students in a 'Sight Word Bingo' game to reinforce recognition. Pair students to take turns reading a short story aloud, helping each other with difficult words. Writing: Ask students to draw and write a few sentences about their favorite animal, focusing on descriptive language. Provide students with a worksheet to fill in missing words in simple sentences, emphasizing descriptive elements.
