Engage students in a role-play activity where they practice making and responding to polite requests
Discuss with students the importance of using polite language in everyday interactions | Phase 2: Mainnew learning including assessment Oral Language:
Conduct a classroom simulation where students must make polite requests to borrow items from classmates
Organize a listening activity where students identify polite requests within a story and respond appropriately
Reading:
Guide students through a picture walk of a storybook and have them predict the story based on images
Conduct a shared reading session where students identify key details to confirm or adjust their predictions
Writing:
Provide students with sentence strips to rearrange and form meaningful sentences
Guide students in a collaborative writing activity to create a short story using sentence strips
Using Writing Conventions:
Introduce action words related to daily activities and have students form sentences using the present continuous tense
Conduct a sentence-building activity where students complete sentences using appropriate present continuous verbs
Extensive Reading:
Set up a reading corner with a variety of age-appropriate books and encourage free reading time
