Phase 1: Starterpreparing the brain for learning

Recap previous knowledge about the community. Quick brainstorm: What do you already know about the community? Introduction to today's objectives regarding the community. Mental drill or quick quiz related to the community.

Phase 2: Mainnew learning including assessment

1. Identify extreme weather types: Floods, Droughts, and Windstorms. 2. Discuss the effects: Damage to crops, displacement of people, and health risks. 3. Brainstorm ways to stay safe during a heavy rainstorm.

Phase 3plenary / reflections

Summarize what we learned today about the community. Oral assessment: Answer key questions on the community. Learners share one new thing they found out about the community. Check for understanding and wrap up the week on the community.
