Phase 1: Starterpreparing the brain for learning Introduce the various vowel sounds using a chart and have students repeat after you.
Engage students in a quick game where they identify words with specific vowel sounds from a list.
Ask learners to brainstorm and share words they know that contain each of the vowel sounds.
Conduct a mini-quiz where students match words to the correct vowel sounds. | Phase 2: Mainnew learning including assessment Oral Language:
Practice vowel sounds by having students listen to and repeat words that highlight each vowel sound.
Conduct a pair activity where students quiz each other on vowel sounds using flashcards.
Reading:
Have students read a short passage and identify words containing specific vowel sounds.
Use a word wall where students can place words they find with common vowel sounds.
Writing:
Ask students to write a short paragraph using a list of given nouns and underline the common nouns.
