Concrete-resource task: Set out these resources for each group: Bible; Qur'an; Printed photograph of a Ghanaian traditional shrine. For this component, learners use the Bible to revisit the Christian creation story and identify the moral values reflected in it. Guide learners to read or recall selected parts of the Christian creation story and discuss what the orderly sequence of creation teaches about planning, orderliness and responsibility. Learners identify values shown in the story, such as hard work, creativity, care for creation, obedience, responsibility and the importance of rest. In groups, learners match each moral value to an example from the creation story. For example, creating the world in stages may be linked to orderliness and planning, while giving humankind responsibility over creation may be linked to stewardship and care for the environment. Groups present their findings and explain how the identified values can be applied in school, at home and in the community. Assessment: 1. State four moral values found in the Christian creation story. 2. Explain how responsibility and care for creation are shown in the story. 3. Give two examples of how you can apply these values in your daily life.

Concrete-resource task: Set out these resources for each group: Bible; Qur'an; Printed photograph of a Ghanaian traditional shrine. Learners use the resources to compare moral values found in the Christian, Islamic and African Traditional Religion creation accounts studied in previous lessons. Divide learners into groups and assign each group one creation account. The Christian group refers to the Bible, the Islamic group refers to teacher-selected passages from the Qur'an, and the ATR group uses the printed photograph together with teacher-provided summaries of traditional creation accounts. Each group identifies moral values reflected in its creation account, such as hard work, orderliness, creativity, responsibility, care for creation, obedience and respect for the Creator. Create a three-column comparison chart labelled Christianity, Islam and African Traditional Religion. Learners record the values identified under each religion and circle values that are shared across two or all three traditions. Groups discuss similarities and differences in how the creation accounts teach people to relate to God, other people and the natural environment. Learners then give practical examples of how the shared values can be applied in everyday life, such as keeping the environment clean, working diligently, caring for living things and using resources responsibly. Assessment: 1. State two moral values found in each of the three creation accounts. 2. Identify two values common to all three religions. 3. Explain how one of these values can be applied in your community.
