Phase 1: Starterpreparing the brain for learning Begin with a storytelling session where students share a short, personal story with a partner.
Introduce a phonics game focusing on blending sounds to form new words.
Have students write a few simple sentences about their weekend to warm up their writing skills. | Phase 2: Mainnew learning including assessment Oral Language:
Facilitate a group activity where students create an alternate ending for a familiar story and present it to the class.
Conduct a storytelling circle where each student adds a sentence to build a collaborative story.
Reading:
Guide students through a structural analysis of challenging words from a new story, focusing on prefixes and suffixes.
Organize a small group reading session where students take turns reading aloud and decoding unfamiliar words.
Writing:
Provide a series of pictures and ask students to write simple sentences that describe each picture.
Encourage students to write a short paragraph using a set of given words to form coherent sentences.
