Phase 1: Starterpreparing the brain for learning Begin by showing an image of a heavily polluted area next to an image of a pristine natural environment and ask: "What differences do you notice between these two pictures?" Share performance indicators with learners. | Phase 2: Mainnew learning including assessment Groups examine the Printed photographs of Ghanaian galamsey and bush burning and list visible causes and effects on water, soil, plants, animals and livelihoods. They use the Clean used sachet-water bag as local evidence when discussing plastic litter and blocked drains. On the Chart paper with markers, learners create a cause-and-effect map and rank the activities by seriousness and preventability. They use the mapped evidence in a short debate and finish with realistic community responses. | Phase 3plenary / reflections Use peer discussion and effective questioning to find out from learners what they have learnt during the lesson |

Phase 1: Starterpreparing the brain for learning Begin by showing a contrasting image: one side depicting a polluted city and the other showing a clean, green community. Ask: "Which side would you rather live in, and why?" Share performance indicators with learners. | Phase 2: Mainnew learning including assessment Groups select one safe local environmental problem and use the Clean used sachet-water bags as recycled pieces in a simple model or collage showing its effects. They use the Markers on the Poster paper to label causes, consequences and prevention measures. Each group presents the model and poster and explains how proper waste disposal, tree care or pollution control protects both people and creation. Materials are counted and disposed of or stored safely after the activity. | Phase 3plenary / reflections Take feedback from learners and summarize the lesson. |
