About the school
School profile
Mfantsipim School is an all-boys Methodist senior high school in Cape Coast, Ghana. Founded on 3 April 1876 as the Wesleyan High School, it is the oldest secondary school in Ghana, predating both Achimota and Prempeh College, both of which trace some of their roots to Mfantsipim students and staff. The school moved to its present site on Kwabotwe Hill in 1931 and is nicknamed 'The School' by its alumni. Former Ghanaian President John Kufuor and UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan are among its notable alumni.
