Phase 1: Starterpreparing the brain for learning
Introduce the concept of poetry by reading a short, engaging six-line poem aloud and discussing its theme Discuss the importance of choosing words carefully for different audiences and purposes, providing examples Introduce abstract nouns by presenting a list of ideas and concepts, asking students to identify the nouns Explain the role of cohesive devices in writing by showing examples of linked sentences
Phase 2: Mainnew learning including assessment
