4th and 5th June is not midterm break- GES PRO

GES Clarifies Mid-Term Break Rumours Ahead of June 2026
A fresh clarification has been issued regarding the widely circulated reports about the supposed mid-term break for basic schools in Ghana.
In a social media post, education commentator and teacher advocate Daniel Fenyi stated clearly that the mid-term break being shared online for June 4th and June 5th is false.
According to him, there will indeed be a mid-term break for schools under the Ghana Education Service (GES), but the dates currently circulating on social media are not accurate.
“June 4th and 5th Information Is Not True”
In his statement, Daniel Fenyi urged teachers, parents, and students to avoid relying on unverified social media messages.
He emphasized that:
“The mid-term break is not tomorrow. There will be mid-term, but it is not June 4th & 5th.”
He further advised the public to always verify educational announcements from official Ghana Education Service communication channels before accepting them as true.
Verify Information From Official Sources
The statement also encouraged the public to check:
- Official GES platforms
- Verified education pages
- School heads and administrators
- Regional education directors
According to the post, any information outside these official channels should not be trusted.
This clarification comes after several social media posts and WhatsApp messages claimed that schools across the country would observe a two-day mid-term break on June 4th and June 5th.
Parents and Teachers Advised to Stay Alert
Parents have been advised not to keep children at home based on unconfirmed reports. Teachers and students are also encouraged to continue academic activities until an official directive is released by GES.
Education stakeholders continue to caution the public against the spread of misinformation, especially on school calendars, examination dates, and academic schedules.
Importance of Following Official GES Announcements
False educational information can disrupt teaching and learning activities across the country. Stakeholders are therefore reminding the public that official academic calendar changes are normally communicated directly by the Ghana Education Service through approved channels.
Until an official announcement is released, schools are expected to continue normal academic work.
